I was just wondering how much a software engineer might make working for Apple. Also, which college is known for good computer programmings/engineers and such professions?

They're probably paid fairly well, given Apple's location in Cupertino (the Bay area is one of the most expensive regions in the U.S. and demands high salaries). It's good to have goals for one particular company, but remember there are many top-notch companies that specialize in Mac software.
For a good school, consult the CSAB accreditation list. You should be able to find one where you want to go to school.
