What is the best photo editing software to use when you want to add color to a picture that you took?

I want to add color into the pupils of a black and white photo but Microsoft Paint doesnt do this smoothly. What is the best software to use for this project? Also, are there any free downloads for the software off of the Net? Thanks!

Photoshop. Or there is this colouring software I used once that only does colouring, nothing else. But photoshop, does the small thing plus much more.

Some programs that only do coloring includes.

www.recolored.com/

I think they are free to try.

They are small sized programs unlike Photoshop. just in case you dont want to download a large program. But I highly suggest photoshop.
Reply:Photo Explosion-not sure about downloading anything free. It is really an awesome photo editor. I have used many, this is the best. I need crystal clear and deep color photos for marketing purposes. This is the one. A friend of mine gave me his copy to download. Google this product to find out more. Don't forget there are very few things that are free. All those free downloads always have strings attached. You either get spammed to death or there is some type of browser hi-jacking or some crap attached. All that will slow your computer down.
Reply:i would do photoshop
Reply:Microsoft Digital Image. You can get it online too.
Reply:Adobe Photoshop is the best software. Theres a free trial that u can download on their website a 30 day trial.

Ive been using this software in editing and putting my designs together with the help of InDesign, which I think is sooo cool!

hope this helps.thanks.
