What is the best piece of software to use to organise many photos.?

Please tell me the name of a piece of software that will easily allow me as a novice to organise photos into folders.

These photos may vary in description.

Ideally the software will have a free trial before purchase.

What is the best piece of software to use to organise many photos.?
I just create folders and put what i want in them, all the other programs gave me more problems than solutions. For all the rest use http://www.irfanview.com/
Reply:I can suggest Windows Live Photo Gallery, Webshots (free). Here you can organize all your photos.

http://www.windowslive.com/photo_gallery...

Click on Get Windows Live and from the list choose Photo Gallery only if you are not interested in other services.

Corel has very good programs.

Reply:picasa; iphoto; Adobe Bridge (comes with Photoshop);

in that order

Each photo (well, even, each file of ANY type on a computer) has room for "information" or "comments" if you want to use it for your "description"
Reply:I use both, easyshare %26amp; pecasa2.....both have good points about them and are free

One thing ,if you haven't already done so....once you get them on your PC and into albums.....copy them to CDs as a back up.....accidents happen!!
