What kind of software should I use to edit hand made drawings that are scanned into the computer?

The kind of drawings I am preferring to are comics. Whenever I scan my comics, the quality of the comics are bad and I don't have any software to sharpen the quality. I draw the comics with pencil then outline with pen. The quality is always bad and I want to know if a kind of software to help me fix that problem. To see some of these comics, go to www.a1soft.com/gami-pan.

What you are referring to sounds like a 'rough draft' that you are trying to make into a finished piece. The lightbox advice is the right way to go - to get a drawing to look really 'clean', you have to draw it again (and sometimes again and again and again!) in order to get it to look right. Don't be afraid to use a lightbox, or tracing paper. No computer program can clean up a sketchy line drawing without actually redrawing the whole thing digitally. To redraw the thing with tracing paper or a lightbox will take 1/2 the time! Don't be lazy - redraw! This will also improve your drawing skills, to the point where you'll 'nail it' right the first or second time! Remember, even the greatest artists need to work out a drawing until it looks right.
Reply:Adobe Photoshop.

use the unsharp mask filter to sharpen up your hand drawing.

it may rendered as a good bold and sharp black lines, like many printed comic does.
Reply:When I draw with pencil, and want a nice, professional look to a copy, I use a lightbox and trace over it with a black pen on a fresh sheet of bright white paper. By drawing over the pencil you will never get a clean copy, as that pencil lead smears on your paper as you rub your hands on it. You can try cleaning it up on the computer with Paint Shop Pro (www.jasc.com), but it will be nicer in the long run to trace the design with a good black pen.
Reply:Adobe Photoshop is a program that can help you!
