I am trying to make a video of a news broadcast, I want to make it look legit. What software allows me to do this easily? Oh by the way, I have a Mac OS X. If that helps. Can you refer me to an online (thorough) tutorial perhaps?

for this you need video editing software and as you have mac we have limited choices here i can suggest you final cut studio for mac ,you can go for avid free dv it's limited edition although but it can give you output as you wanted.
